Andrew E. McLaughlin
(1975 - 2010)

Andrew E. McLaughlin is a registered patent attorney who practices primarily in the area of intellectual property with particular emphasis on patent prosecution, patentability analysis, patent and trademark infringement analysis, and the licensing of intellectual property rights. Mr. McLaughlin has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a variety of technical fields, including the mechanical, chemical, biotech, and software arts. He is also experienced in preparing and analyzing intellectual property licensing agreements, collaborative research agreements, consulting agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.

Mr. McLaughlin is admitted to practice in New York and before The United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. McLaughlin is a member of the Erie County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Niagara Frontier Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Licensing Executives Society.

Mr. McLaughlin earned his Juris Doctor in June 2007 from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School, where he concentrated his studies in Intellectual Property Law and received the American Bar Association and Bureau of National Affairs Award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property Law. He earned a B.S. in Biology and Psychology from the University at Buffalo, and is a recipient of the Interdisciplinary Research and Creative Activities Fund Award.

Mr. McLaughlin appreciates the increasingly vital role intellectual property plays in the domestic and foreign markets and has dedicated his career to advocating for those who seek and depend upon intellectual property protection.
