C. Richard Lohrman, Esq.

C. Richard Lohrman is a registered patent attorney whose work history includes an extensive background in the pharmaceutical industry as well as experience is the field of technology licensing in both industrial and academic settings. As an attorney concentrating in the field of intellectual property, Mr. Lohrman has successfully prosecuted both U.S. and foreign patent applications, written patentability opinions and filed and prosecuted trademark applications. His areas of practice include the mechanical arts and biotechnology, and he has provided research and motion support in patent infringement litigation.

Mr. Lohrman received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Washington & Lee University. After serving in the Vietnam War as an officer with the U.S. Army, he returned to school earning a Master of Science Degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a concentration in Cellular Biology. His research concentrated on the effect of steroid hormones on the synthesis and transport of nucleic acids and proteins. Mr. Lohrman received his Juris Doctor Degree from The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law where he was a member of the Desmond Moot Court Board and vice-president of the Law and Technology Issues Society at the School.

Mr. Lohrman worked in the pharmaceutical industry in both manufacturing and quality control. In addition, he established programs for the handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste as well as overseeing control of air emissions and personnel training. He has also held positions as technology licensing director in both industrial and university settings where he successfully licensed new technologies to both startup and established companies and acted as a consultant on intellectual property matters.

Mr. Lohrman is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Lohrman is currently the President of the Niagara Frontier Intellectual Property Law Association. He is a member of the Intellectual Property and Sports and Entertainment Sections of the New York Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, and the Niagara Frontier Intellectual Property Law Association.
