Krista M. Kovacs
Krista M. Kovacs is a law clerk who anticipates receiving her Juris Doctor degree in May 2009 from Nova Southeastern University, where she is currently enrolled. While attending law school, Ms. Kovacs is primarily focusing her studies on intellectual property law. Currently, she is a member of Phi Alpha Delta and the Pro Bono Honor Program. While attending law school, she participated in a judicial internship where she rotated between three different courthouses in Miami-Dade County, FL, including the Third District Court of Appeal.
Ms. Kovacs graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience with a concentration in Psychobiology along with minors in Chemistry and Political Science. She was inducted into Beta Beta Beta, the biology honor society, and Alpha Lambda Delta, the freshmen honor society. She was also a member of the Honors Student Association and the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
While working towards her undergraduate degree, Ms. Kovacs supplemented her degree in a variety of different disciplines. She worked as a research assistant in a biophysics laboratory where she studied the cellular and molecular biology of chemosensory transduction in taste buds and analyzed data from genetically engineered mice to better understand the structure and function of receptor cells in taste buds. She also volunteered as a medical technician at the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office where she aided with autopsies by weighing organs and conducting post-autopsy procedures.
Ms. Kovacs is presently assisting our patent attorneys and patent agents in preparing patentability opinion letters and patent applications, infringement opinions, and validity studies.
