Biography

Michael Altman is an attorney whose practice focuses on trademark matters, while also assisting with patent and other intellectual property matters. Mr. Altman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies with a Secondary Field in Music from Harvard University in 2015. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 2019, graduating Magna Cum Laude and completing a concentration in Intellectual Property and Privacy.

During law school, Mr. Altman was an Executive Publication Editor of the Buffalo Law Review, overseeing the journal’s research and editing process and serving on its board. He was also part of the Puerto Rico Recovery Assistance Legal Clinic, a law school clinic that provided legal assistance to those affected by Hurricane Maria. After law school, Mr. Altman clerked for a small law firm, working on trademark and litigation matters. Prior to working at Simpson & Simpson, he was an office manager for a small family business.
